Summer Marquee Wedding in Exmoor

Verity & Marcus’ unforgettable summer wedding at home in Exmoor
Some weddings are magic from the start — Verity and Marcus’ day was just that. Set in the rolling hills of Exmoor, they threw a celebration that was elegant, full of surprises, and deeply personal from beginning to end.
A church ceremony in Dulverton
The day began with calm anticipation as Verity and Marcus got ready separately. She wore a beautifully tailored Suzanne Neville gown from Parham House Brides, paired with timeless Manolo Blahnik heels. Her hair was styled by Hair by Hannah, and makeup by Isis Wellbeing and Skincare kept her looking radiant all day long. Her bridesmaids looked effortlessly elegant in Maids to Measure dresses with accessories from Fairfax & Favor.
They married in the quaint village church in Dulverton — a quiet, emotional ceremony surrounded by family and friends. The joy on their faces as they stepped out of the church into the sunshine set the tone for the day ahead.
A helicopter, the moors, and one epic entrance
Instead of heading straight to the reception, Verity and Marcus took to the skies. A helicopter whisked them away for a private moment — and some utterly breathtaking portraits — out on the moors. The wide open space, wind in her veil, nothing but the wildness of Exmoor around them…
Then, just as guests were settling in for drinks back at Verity’s family home, the helicopter appeared — landing on the lawn in front of the marquee. The surprise on everyone’s faces was priceless. They stepped out beaming, greeted with cheers and glasses of fizz.
Garden drinks, lawn toasts, and marquee magic
With the summer sun still shining, guests gathered on the lawn for drinks, family photos, and an informal toast speech from Marcus’ best man, Felix as they celebrated by pouring a champagne tower.
Brompton Buds filled the marquee and garden with relaxed, romantic florals — nothing too fussy, just beautiful seasonal flowers with a soft, country feel. It tied the whole setting together perfectly.
Dinner and speeches followed in the marquee, catered impeccably by Kit and Kee. The tables, filled with food, wine, and laughter, felt like the heart of the party.
Dancing under the stars (and fireworks to finish)
As the sun dipped, the starlit dance floor came to life. Chance Band got everyone up on their feet from the first song, and the energy didn’t dip once.
But Verity and Marcus had one last surprise up their sleeves. Just when guests thought it couldn’t get any better, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the Exmoor sky — a jaw-dropping finale to an already unforgettable day.
The whole day was captured with elegance and energy on film by George from G.L.R. Visual on film — a dream to work alongside.
