Spring Floral Wedding Inspiration at Cornwell Manor
Solstice x GAIA – A floral workshop led by Liberty Lane Studio & Tiger by the Tail
I had the joy of photographing a truly beautiful floral workshop held at Cornwell Manor – a luxury wedding venue that continues to take my breath away, no matter how many times I return. As a Cornwell Manor wedding photographer, I usually get to capture couples celebrating the biggest day of their lives here. This time, it was a little different – but just as full of beauty, artistry and creativity.
The workshop, Solstice x GAIA, was led by the wonderful Jen from Liberty Lane Studio and Jess from Tiger by the Tail, the duo behind GAIA Vessels – a floral vessel company with a love for natural, garden-inspired design. Their vision for the day? Abundant, organic floral styling with a seasonal, springtime heart – And they absolutely delivered.
A dream Wedding setting in the Cotswolds
Cornwell Manor needs little introduction. Nestled on the Oxfordshire–Gloucestershire border, it’s one of the most iconic wedding venues in the Cotswolds. It’s been featured in The Holiday, no less, and its grounds and architecture are every bit as romantic and timeless as you’d expect. The day’s workshop took place in the manor’s elegant Ballroom – a space full of classical details, with tall windows, gilded mirrors, and a minstrel’s gallery that overlooks it all.As a photographer, the light in there is just gorgeous. Especially in spring.
Capturing creativity in full bloom
My role was to document the behind-the-scenes moments: the florist attendees working, designing, and chatting; their stunning final designs; and the atmosphere that naturally unfolded throughout the day. There’s something really special about being a fly on the wall for something so creative and collaborative. From buckets overflowing with the most beautiful British-grown spring flowers to the hands-on energy of everyone working in flow—it was a joy to photograph.
I especially loved watching the large-scale floral installation come to life in the ballroom. Ladders, armfuls of branches, armatures quietly being filled with seasonal texture and colour. It was floral storytelling at its best.
Table styling and seasonal feasting
Later in the day, everyone gathered for a three-course lunch prepared by Miss Ingredient, served at the long dining table adorned with the group’s floral tablescapes. The styling was classic GAIA—natural, relaxed, wildly elegant. There were delicate pops of spring colour in footed vessels, layered textures, and soft movement to everything.
Why workshops like these matter
For any florist, stylist or creative in the wedding industry, days like these are gold. Not only for the education and inspiration but for the space they create for slowing down, reconnecting with the craft, and working alongside others who just get it. As a wedding photographer, being part of this kind of event gives me fresh perspective and creative energy. It’s also a great reminder of how much love and skill goes into the work florists do on a wedding day.
Solstice x GAIA was more than a workshop. It was a masterclass in intention, design and connection—all held in one of the most romantic spaces in the Cotswolds.
